Gulf Energy Information’s Global Energy Infrastructure (GEI) database is tracking nearly 1,400 active H2 projects globally. More than 80% of active H2 projects are based on blue (13%) or green (82%) production pathways. FIG. 1 provides a comparison of active blue and green H2 projects by region. As shown in FIG. 2, green H2 production represents nearly 83% of active H2 projects globally, with blue pathways equaling 13%. When blue and green H2 projects are analyzed by activity level (FIG. 3), more than 90% are still in preconstruction phases, with planning/proposed representing nearly 70% of active H2 projects globally.
