IBE, Port Anthony Renewables to build green H2 hub in Victoria

Infinite Blue Energy and Port Anthony Renewables will partner to develop and construct a large-scale green H2 facility in Australia.

The facility will be Australia's first independently owned commercial large-scale hydrogen production site and will be located at Port Anthony.

The joint venture, titled the Arrowsmith Hydrogen Project will produce 25 tons of green  hydrogen per day from water, solar and wind energy with no carbon debt. In addition, it will allow fuel cell vehicles to be practical in Australia.

Plans to develop Austrialia's hydrogen industry were revealed in February, and The Renewable Hydrogen Industry Development Plan, sets out a blueprint for how the Victorian Government will lead and support a suite of outcomes to drive the development of a renewable hydrogen sector.

It takes a principles-based approach to establishing a new renewable hydrogen sector and sets out activities currently underway, which are laying the foundations, connecting the economy and leading the development of this emerging technology sector.

Victoria has all the right elements for establishing a renewable hydrogen economy – solar, wind, hydroelectricity, education, deep water port, initial hydrogen technology cluster, freight route and gas and electricity networks.

The Arrowsmith Hydrogen Project is set to commence in 2022.
