Infinite Blue Energy has entered an MOU with Strike Energy to supply renewable hydrogen to its Project Haber urea production facility near Geraldton.

Strike Energy will manufacture 1.4 MMtpy of low carbon urea at the Narngulu Industrial Estate at Geraldton and will require up to 390 tpd of green hydrogen to complement the renewable hydrogen produced on site.

"IBE is on a pathway to producing 265 tpd of green hydrogen for domestic and export markets from its Arrowsmith Hydrogen Plant in Western Australia," said Infinite Blue Energy CEO Stephen Gauld. "I am excited that we have entered into a MOU with Strike Energy as a first step to securing a long-term supply partnership with Project Haber, which currently represents the biggest industrial manufacturing opportunity for green hydrogen off-take in Australia."

IBE will develop its Arrowsmith Hydrogen Plant in three stages with the first stage of 25 tpd of green hydrogen being produced during late 2024 with anticipated production of 5 tpd as part of our demonstration project.

Once the three stages are completed, Arrowsmith Hydrogen Plant will produce up to 265 metric t of green hydrogen each day from 1314 MW of solar, 1030 MW of wind and 110 MW of battery energy located on site. The 96,000 metric t of green hydrogen each year will displace more than 1.3 MM metric t of CO2 emissions based on natural gas emission rates.
