JERA has concluded a strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with ADNOC to cooperate in clean H₂ and ammonia fields. The UAE has set out a net zero by 2050 strategic initiative and aims to become one of the leading producers of clean H₂ by 2031. ADNOC is expected to play an important role in achieving this target.

JERA and ADNOC have built a good relationship through years of LNG sale and purchase and have jointly conducted feasibility assessments in the H₂ and ammonia fields. The companies have discussed ways to further deepen cooperation in the H₂ and ammonia field and concluded this SCA.

The SCA is a continuation of the good collaboration and relationship established between ADNOC and JERA and will reinforce the collaboration toward a value chain in clean H₂ and ammonia fields, contributing to the expansion of business opportunities for both companies.

To achieve its “JERA Zero CO2 Emissions 2050” objective, JERA will continue to work with leading companies in Japan and overseas to establish and expand supply chains for H₂ and ammonia, thereby contributing to global decarbonization and energy solutions.
