Tajikistan aims to produce 1 MM metric t of green H2 by 2040

According to Reuters, Tajikistan aims to produce 1 MM metric t of green H2 by 2040 for domestic usage and exports to neighboring Central Asian countries. The country, which relies on hydropower for nearly all of its electricity and imports most of its oil products from Russia, plans to have 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

Tajikistan also aims to produce 500,000 tons of green H2 by 2030, with the figure to double by 2040, and diversify its electricity sources to include solar and wind to combat climate change. The financial details of the green H2 production plans were not disclosed.
