According to Reuters, Open Grid Europe (OGE) is collaborating with French, Spanish and Portuguese gas grid operators to develop a multibillion-euro H2 pipeline that will connect the Iberian Peninsula to France and Central Europe. The project aims to support Europe's transition to a low-carbon economy, with H2 being a key element in decarbonizing industrial production.
The French ambassador emphasized that there should be no discrimination against nuclear energy as a source of H2 production to Germany. The European Commission is expected to adopt a list of H2 projects of common interest next week, and the companies behind the project are eagerly waiting to see if they will receive significant European Union subsidies.
