Global renewable energy capacity to fall short of UN climate talks target

(Reuters)—The International Energy Agency (IEA) reported that global renewable energy capacity is expected to grow by two and a half times by 2030, which is still not enough to reach the goal of tripling it by then agreed at United Nations' climate talks.

The report highlights that the biggest challenge will be scaling up financing and deploying renewables in most emerging and developing economies. The report also mentions the slow progress in green H2 projects despite many announcements.
