(Reuters)--The Moroccan government has announced plans to allocate 1 MM hectares of land for green H₂ projects. The initiative aims to attract investors by offering incentives for integrated projects that generate electricity from renewable energies and convert green H₂ into various fuels. The first phase of the project will cover 300,000 hectares.

The government stated that the project will help Morocco become a major player in the global energy transition. Already, over 100 investors have expressed interest in producing green H₂ in Morocco, capitalizing on the country's abundant sun and wind. Morocco aims to increase the share of renewable energy in its installed capacity to 52% by 2030 from the current 37.6%.
