Balkan countries embrace clean energy amid EU targets

The discovery of H2 beneath the Bulqize chrome mine in Albania has shifted perceptions about its presence from dangerous to potentially profitable. With the European Union and the U.S. investing heavily in renewable H2 technology, Balkan countries like Serbia and Croatia are also embracing H2 as a cleaner energy alternative.

Challenges remain, including infrastructure and investment, but the potential for reducing reliance on fossil fuels is driving momentum. The discovery in Albania, though small and costly to extract, offers hope and encourages further research in similar areas.
