Circular Refining announced the development of the region’s first-ever ruby (nuclear-derived H2) facility. This project signifies a significant step towards a clean energy future for West Cheshire and North Wales, and we’re actively seeking collaboration with local businesses to make it a reality.
Our vision is a multi-stage development culminating in a 100-MWe nuclear park and a 100-MWe electrolyzer for large-scale ruby H2 production. The project will be implemented in five stages, with each stage adding 20 MWe of nuclear power generation capacity alongside a dedicated 20-MWe H2 production facility. The initial phase will see the construction of a 20-MWe small modular reactor (SMR) alongside a dedicated 20-MWe H2 production facility on Deeside Industrial Park.
This phased approach ensures a smooth and efficient rollout, allowing our technology and infrastructure to adapt and expand over time. Ultimately, this project offers a viable path for the region to achieve its net zero goals. Ruby H2, produced using clean nuclear energy, boasts a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to traditional fossil fuels.
Circular Refining is committed to working with local companies to leverage this clean fuel source. Here’s a breakdown of the facility and how you can be involved:
HGVs Go Green: A Call to Action. We are particularly interested in collaborating with companies operating heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). H2 fuel offers a clean-burning alternative that significantly reduces emissions, making it a perfect fit for businesses committed to sustainability. By adopting H2 fuel, you can become an early adopter in this exciting transition towards a clean energy future.
