Uniper-owned OKG has entered into an agreement with Hynion for the delivery of H₂ from its H₂ plant in Oskarshamn. With another supplier, Hynion ensures the availability of H₂ and prepares for increasing H₂-powered traffic in Sweden.

Hynion, which continuously strives to enhance the operational reliability of its H₂ refueling stations, is now taking an important step by including OKG as one of its H₂ suppliers. This partnership represents an important part of Hynion's strategy to reduce dependence on individual suppliers.

Uniper, the international energy company that owns OKG, plays an important role in over 40 countries and is a leading electricity producer in Sweden. Uniper's facilities, including fossil-free hydropower and nuclear power, are crucial for both secure energy supply and the ongoing energy transition. The H₂ that Hynion will use is produced at OKG’s nuclear power plant, where Oskarshamn 3 (O3), one of the world's largest boiling water reactors, generated 9.2 TWh of carbon-free electricity in 2023, equivalent to 6.8 % of Sweden's total electricity consumption.
