bp to develop green H2 project in Spain

(Reuters)--bp has approved the development of a green H2 facility at its Castellon refinery in Spain and is expected to make a final investment decision on a 100-MW green H2 project in Germany by the end of the year. These projects aim to produce sustainable aviation fuel and green H2, supporting bp's decarbonization efforts. This announcement follows bp's stronger-than-expected $2.76-B profit for the second quarter and increased dividend. bp's move into H2 comes after Shell's recent decision to advance a similar project at its German refinery.
