Ion Fuel LLC has announced the development of groundbreaking technology for H₂-fueled barbeque systems, using Ion-Fuels patented onsite H₂ production system.

Ion Fuel LLC will offer an affordable, safe H₂-fueled barbeque system that can be adopted for use in most barbeques currently available on the market, and at a price that is consistent with today’s higher-end propane or natural gas-fueled barbeques.

“The benefits of grilling with H₂ are many. H₂ burns super-clean and leaves your food tasting better, and juicier than traditional barbeque methods. Our system will still produce the Maillard reaction of browning and the development of complex flavors and aromas while eliminating the aftertaste of propane, charcoal, or natural gas,” according to William Green, Ion Fuel LLC CEO.

Additionally, cooking with green H₂ aligns with sustainable energy practices, supporting the transition towards cleaner energy solutions. Green H₂ is produced using renewable energy sources, such as wind or solar power, which means it doesn’t produce greenhouse gas emissions during production. When used for grilling, it generates only water vapor as a byproduct, minimizing pollution and carbon footprint compared to traditional fossil fuels.

Our green H₂ generator operates on solar, wind, or plug power, using only distilled water to produce true green H₂, which is then used to fuel your barbeque grill,” said Jeff Basford, Ion Fuel LLC COO.

“We are seeking partners to assist in developing the barbeque grill component of our system. Our goal is to work with barbeque manufacturers to adapt our system to their current product lines. We plan to have H₂-fueled grills available to consumers by early 2025.”
