H2 solutions company, H2H Energy, has proudly launched its groundbreaking H2 refueling product, H2CORE, marking a national first for Australia. The locally manufactured solution offers high-capacity refueling for H2-powered vehicles including cars, trucks, buses, and boats.
The official launch took place at the company’s manufacturing facility on the Sunshine Coast, where H2H Energy has been developing the H2CORE for their first Australian customer.
As the only manufacturer of H2 refueling equipment in Australia, H2H Energy has been supporting projects across Australia and New Zealand since 2014, starting with its small-scale portable refueller, the Gateway.
The introduction of the H2CORE represents a significant advancement in H2H Energy’s commitment to scaling up to meet the evolving needs of the H2 industry, especially as fleet sizes expand, and H2-powered heavy vehicles begin to enter the Australian market for the first time.
The H2CORE offers 35 or 70 MPa H2 dispensing in a 40ft high-cube shipping container, with configurable H2 storage and refueling times. It can be fed from a tube trailer or electrolyzer.
The launch event was attended by representatives from industry and government, underscoring the importance of this development.
H2H Energy is seeing growing interest in H2 refueling solutions from Australian bus operators, logistics companies, and passenger car fleets who are eager to decarbonize their operations and deploy technology options beyond battery electric vehicles.
Cranston Polson, CEO & Founder of H2H Energy, stated that today marks a significant day for the H2 industry, especially with the increasing momentum to scale Australia’s H2 sector, as highlighted by the release of the updated National H2 Strategy this month.
“With the launch of the updated strategy, which places H2 at the forefront of the Australian Government’s energy policy, we are excited to lead the way in this crucial transition by building H2 solutions in Australia,” he said.
“The H2CORE is a game-changer for the industry, and we are committed to driving innovation and supporting our customers in their move toward H2 mobility and do our bit to decarbonize Australia’s transport sector.”
One of the most significant barriers to the uptake of H2 fuel cell technology has been the lack of adequate infrastructure. The introduction of the H2CORE, along with H2H Energy’s comprehensive range of refueling solutions, is designed to address this critical challenge by empowering businesses to transition to H2 technology with confidence.
