Tyczka Hydrogen and H2 MOBILITY sign first supply contracts

Green hydrogen, produced and supplied by Tyczka Hydrogen, is now available at the H2 MOBILITY station in Erlangen. Deliveries to additional hydrogen refueling stations in Bavaria, including Biebelried, Fürth, and Pentling, will follow shortly. This milestone moves H2 MOBILITY closer to its goal of offering 100% green hydrogen across its entire refueling network by 2028 at the latest.

The hydrogen station in Erlangen, one of the busiest in the H2 MOBILITY network, is heavily frequented by heavy-duty vehicles. Effective immediately, the station is being supplied with green hydrogen produced via electrolysis using renewable energy. Other H2 MOBILITY stations in Bavaria, including Biebelried, Fürth, and Pentling, will soon be supplied as well.

Clear Goal: 100% Green Hydrogen
“To make a real contribution to the decarbonization of road transport, we have set ourselves the ambitious goal of transitioning completely to green hydrogen from renewable energy sources by 2028. Supplying the Erlangen hydrogen station with renewable hydrogen is a significant success and marks the beginning of further supply contracts with Tyczka Hydrogen,” said Frank Fronzke, Managing Director and COO of H2 MOBILITY.

“We are pleased to count Europe’s leading public hydrogen refueling station network among our customers—starting in our home state of Bavaria is particularly special for us. We greatly value the professional collaboration with the H2 MOBILITY team and look forward to signing additional supply agreements,” added Thomas Zorn, Managing Director and COO of Tyczka Hydrogen.

Once certification under the EU’s Delegated Regulation for Renewable Fuels of Non-Biogenic Origin (RFNBO) is available, the hydrogen supplied by Tyczka Hydrogen will be RFNBO-certified.

The station serves business customers in the region, particularly from the logistics and waste management sectors. Customers include Hylane, a hydrogen truck rental company and operator of Europe’s largest hydrogen-powered truck fleet (currently featuring Hyundai Xcient Fuel Cell 4x2 and 6x2 trucks).
