ERM has supported the HYTLANTIC JV in the preparation of its successful application to the European Union’s Innovation Fund. HYTLANTIC’s GreenH2Atlantic project has been awarded €62 MM by the Innovation Fund, which is designed to support low-carbon technologies and projects that contribute to the decarbonization of European industry and help to boost the region’s competitiveness.
The project will deploy 100 MW of H2 production capacity powered by wind and solar renewable electricity sources to supply H2 to the Sines refinery and for blending in the natural gas grid.
The successful GreenH2Atlantic Innovation Fund submission was one of eight H2 production proposals invited to the grant agreement phase, out of 70 submissions to the industry electrification and H2 call. ERM’s services included strategic project review, proposal preparation and ongoing project support.
Michael Dolman, partner lead for ERM on the project said, “It has been a privilege to support HYTLANTIC on its Innovation Fund and project development journey. GreenH2Atlantic is a high impact decarbonization project that will provide valuable lessons for other project developers seeking to deliver large-scale green H2 facilities. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with HYTLANTIC to support the European energy transition.”
