Air Liquide, a French company, has identified two out of six U.S. H2 projects it was awarded by the Department of Energy (DOE) in 2023 as the most likely to proceed after President Trump's freeze on clean energy funding. These projects involve H2 from natural gas with carbon capture.
Air Liquide's CEO, François Jackow, noted that the future of the remaining four projects depends on the new administration's renewable energy policies. The company continues to invest in U.S. clean energy, including a partnership with ExxonMobil on low-carbon H2 and ammonia production. Jackow also mentioned ongoing projects in the battery and industrial gas sectors and expressed confidence that tariffs would have minimal impact on Air Liquide's U.S. business.
