Repsol has reduced its 2030 target for green H₂ production by up to 63%, now aiming for 0.7 gigawatts (GW) to 1.2 GW of electrolyzer capacity, down from the previous target of 1.9 GW. This adjustment is due to market development delays, regulatory challenges and other factors.

CEO Josu Jon Imaz emphasized a focus on capital prudence and return over meeting ambitious capacity goals. Green H₂, a key component for decarbonizing Europe's economy, remains costly and reliant on subsidies to be competitive.
