Dutch government awards HyCC an OWE grant to develop electrolysis project

The Dutch government has awarded HyCC an important OWE grant for the development of the electrolysis project H2eron in Delfzijl. The project was selected for its advanced development and competitive offering of fully renewable H2.

H2eron has a planned capacity of 90 MW to produce fully renewable H2 from water and electricity in Delfzijl. The H2 can be used for the decarbonization of local industries as well as other industrial clusters in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany once the national H2 backbone is in place.

Marcel Galjee, Chief Strategy Officer of HyCC said, “We are grateful for the recognition from the Ministry for the H2eron project. This subsidy is pivotal in developing the project and helping to scale up electrolysis technology, contributing to a future-proof and sustainable industry here in Europe.”

HyCC continues to work towards an FID for the project, taking also into account market development, the implementation of RED III regulation in the Netherlands and timely availability of the required transport infrastructure.
