HysetCo operates a H2 vehicle fleet (800 vehicles) and manages France’s leading network of H2 stations (8 stations in the Île-de-France region). Continuing its growth, the company has now increased H2 refueling capacity at Orly Airport sixfold.
HysetCo is expanding its H2 station network in Île-de-France to support the growing demand for sustainable transport. At the heart of the Paris-Orly airport platform, the distribution capacity of its H2 station has now reached 1 tpd. This project is a collaboration with Groupe ADP and is financially supported by the French government, the European Union’s CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) Transport program, and the Île-de-France Regional Council.
A high-capacity, high-performance station on a landmark site. The Paris-Orly airport site is a key node in deploying H2 mobility in dense urban areas. Located close to major traffic flows—taxis, commercial vehicles, travelers—it is a critical refueling point for high-usage needs. With its new 1-tpd capacity, the station can now serve more than 500 vehicles daily.
This new station replaces the first H2 station in Île-de-France, which was installed at the airport in 2017. Road access to airports can account for up to 30% of off-flight carbon emissions, making this initiative a significant step toward cleaner and more functional mobility.
“The inauguration of this H2 station within the airport improves access to clean and renewable energy, reinforcing our shared commitment to decarbonized mobility—for the benefit of both airport users and nearby residents. Paris-Orly, which will be carbon neutral in its internal emissions by 2025, continues its ambitious path to net-zero ground emissions by 2030—a vision shared with engaged partners like HysetCo. Together, we are committed to sustainable progress, where responsibility guides innovation and every action counts,” said Laurence Faure, Director of Paris-Orly Airport, Groupe ADP.
With the expansion of its Orly station, HysetCo solidifies its position as France’s leading H2 distributor. Its 8 stations across Île-de-France are tailored to meet growing usage with reliable, accessible and high-performing infrastructure.
“Increasing our H2 distribution capacity at Orly sixfold marks another milestone in our commitment to offer a coherent, global zero-emission mobility solution that’s accessible to as many people as possible. HysetCo currently operates 800 H2 vehicles—the largest H2 fleet in the world—and we plan to increase this fivefold in the next five years, particularly in the rapidly growing light commercial vehicle segment,” said Loïc Voisin, President of HysetCo.
The initiative is supported by the French government, the European Union (through the CEF Transport program), and the Île-de-France Region. It is fully aligned with regional and European strategies for energy transition and greenhouse gas reduction.
“Supporting the development of decarbonized H2 mobility remains a top priority for the European Union, despite the sector's current challenges. The EU’s financial backing of this project, and its advanced refueling capacity, demonstrate that meaningful progress is achievable. This new station illustrates the transport sector’s potential to transition toward carbon neutrality,” said Richard Ferrer, Head of Innovation and Alternative Fuels Sector, CINEA Agency.
“The opening of the Orly H2 station—our 14th regional installation—marks another step in building the infrastructure necessary for clean mobility. It complements the major efforts of the Region, including: 100% decarbonized public transport by 2025, the creation of the Vélo Île-de-France cycling network, and support since 2020 for the installation of 5,000 EV charging points. The Île-de-France region is a strategic hub for the deployment of green and low-carbon H2, particularly as H2 can play a key role in producing sustainable aviation fuels,” said Valérie Pécresse, President of the Île-de-France Region.
