Uzbekistan Green H2 Project—powered by the collaboration of ACWA Power, PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation, and LONGi Hydrogen—has successfully produced H2, paving the way for full commissioning.
As the project’s sole H2 production equipment supplier, LONGi Hydrogen delivered four 1,000Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzers, along with integrated systems including power supply, control systems, gas-liquid separation, and purification. All equipment was designed and delivered in full compliance with international standards, including applicable EU directives and U.S. industrial codes.
By the end of June, all four electrolyzers had successfully completed comprehensive commissioning tests, including system energization, current ramp-up, gas separation and purity verification, venting tests, and emergency shutdown drills. Both the core process system and auxiliary systems operated stably, producing high-purity H2 and oxygen as required, and achieving stable and full-load operation.
This success validates the technical reliability of LONGi’s system and underscores our ability to deliver high-standard solutions for global green H2 projects.
PowerChina Huadong commented, "LONGi Hydrogen ensured smooth project progress with their strong technical resilience and exceptional responsiveness from delivery to commissioning.”
As a flagship of Uzbekistan’s green energy strategy, the project integrates wind power, H2 production, and ammonia synthesis into a closed-loop zero-carbon system. Powered by 52 MW of wind energy, it produces 3,000 tons of green H2 annually—enabling 500,000 tons of low-carbon fertilizer and cutting 30,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.
LONGi’s high-efficiency, low-consumption electrolyzer plays a key role in this transformation, forming the backbone of the project’s zero-carbon H2 supply.
This project marks several firsts: LONGi H2’s first large-scale deployment in Central Asia, the first successful international operation of a 1,000Nm³/h “4-to-1” electrolyzer system, and the first use of its technology in a green ammonia application overseas—signifying a major step in the company’s global development.
Ma Jun, President of LONGi Hydrogen, stated, “This successful commissioning marks a key milestone in our global journey and showcases China’s large-scale electrolyzer technology on the international stage. We delivered high-efficiency, low-consumption systems and collaborated closely with partners to ensure smooth integration with project requirements and local conditions.”
This project demonstrates the strength of international collaboration, combining the expertise of ACWA Power, PowerChina Huadong, and LONGi Hydrogen. It also deepened the partnership among all parties. As the sole H2 equipment supplier, LONGi Hydrogen was recognized for its robust technology and reliable delivery, offering a replicable model for industrial decarbonization and a solid foundation for future green H2 and ammonia projects.
Looking ahead, LONGi Hydrogen remains committed to being a global trusted partner an expert in green H2, supporting global decarbonization through continued engagement in international projects.
