Horisont Energi has signed a Letter of Intent with Barents NaturGass AS for a long-term purchase agreement of up to 100,000 tpy of clean ammonia from Horisont Energi’s and Fertiberia’s Barents Blue plant.

Statkraft joined Aker Horizons as a partner on the large-scale green H₂ and ammonia project in Narvik, Norway. The plant under development at Kvandal in Narvik has a planned capacity of up to 600 MW and will be one of the first large-scale plants for green ammonia in Europe.

Hexagon Purus Maritime has received a purchase order for a H₂ fuel storage system from Hvide Sande Shipyard, a Danish shipyard building and servicing a wide range of vessel types.

Gen2 Energy received a general building permit for the H₂ plant in Mosjøen and for the associated administrative building. Vefsn municipality has approved Gen2 Energy’s plans for the green H₂ production facility and the administrative building.

Maersk and Equinor have signed an agreement securing supply of green methanol for Maersk’s landmark, new methanol-enabled feeder vessel during its initial months of operation from September 2023 and into the first half of 2024.

As the world embarks on a transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, H₂ has emerged as a crucial component of the clean energy mix. H₂ storage is a pivotal component of a stable and reliable energy supply and will rely especially on vast underground caverns.

Wärtsilä will provide the front-end engineering design for the liquefaction and storage of liquefied synthetic methane (LSM) plant. It will have a capacity of 200 MW and will convert green electricity into H₂ and sustainable LSM.
