Iverson eFuels AS and ECOnnect Energy join forces with the implementation of jettyless technology for groundbreaking Norwegian Hydrogen and Green Ammonia plant in Sauda

H-TEC SYSTEMS has sold a 1-MW PEM ME450 electrolyzer to the University of Stuttgart. The electrolyzer is a component of the WAVE-H2 project, a test center that is currently being built on the site of the Freudenstadt campus that will provide innovative research opportunities in the area of hydrogen in production.

As engineers design H₂ production facilities, they must focus on creating well-constructed fluid systems to ensure peak performance of the plant. In fact, effective fluid systems can significantly influence the safety, productivity and profitability of H₂ production facilities. 

From an operational perspective, the basic function of a compressor control system is to provide startup and shutdown sequencing, operational and process control, human-machine interfacing and monitoring, and equipment safety alarms and shutdowns.

As part of a debottlenecking procedure, a refinery in Oklahoma (U.S.) was interested in analyzing its H₂ recycle compressor performance, thinking it may need rerating to improve plant capacity.

H₂ coming out of a manufacturing process [e.g., methane (CH₄) reforming, electrolysis or stored geologically] comes together with an array of impurities such as oxygen (O₂), water, carbon oxides or sulfur. However, the use of H₂ in mobility via a fuel cell or as a reactant in a catalytic conversion imposes tight specifications, especially on O₂ and water. 

Nations around the world are investing in new technologies and pathways to limit carbon emissions and adhere to ambitious net-zero goals. Part of this strategy includes the massive scale-up of H₂ production capacity, primarily green routes that use renewable energy for production. 

Major energy companies owned the oil and gas in the ground and proprietary processing technologies, exerting major influence over the regulatory process. They had a balance sheet to pay for their projects, worked with their preferred engineering, procurement and construction firms and owned the retail organizations to distribute products to consumers.
