Plug Power's H2 fuel cell powers airliner at Washington airport
Plug Power announced the historic flight of a regional airliner powered by the company’s line of ProGen fuel cells. Led by Universal Hydrogen, the H2 fuel cell-powered flying testbed took off at 8:30 a.m. for 15 minutes at Grant County International Airport in Washington state.

Wiggins Lift selects Loop Energy to power new H2-electric eBull forklift
Loop Energy has been selected by Wiggins Lift to provide the fuel cell system for its new H2-powered eBull forklift product. Loop Energy will deliver the system and begin commissioning in Q2 2023 to support commercial deployment of the H2-electric forklifts in late 2023.
Nel to expand production capacity at its PEM electrolyzer manufacturing facility
Nel ASA has taken the final investment decision to expand the production capacity at its proton exchange membrane electrolyzer manufacturing facility in Wallingford, Connecticut. The expansion will bring annual production capacity towards 500 MW in 2025.
H2Tech: Projects Update
According to a report by Petroleum Economist, India plans to replace 5 MMtpy of gray H2 consumed in its refining, chemicals, fertilizer and metals sector with green H2 by 2030. The phased approach will help India reach its goal of exporting up to 10 MMtpy of green H2 within that same timeframe.
U.S. DOE encourages Gulf Coast-focused regional clean H2 hub proposal
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstration encouraged a Texas consortium spearheading the development of a regional clean H2 hub on the U.S. Gulf Coast to submit a full application in response to a Funding Opportunity Announcement designated in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

ExxonMobil to utilize Topsoe technology to produce low-carbon H2 at mega scale
Topsoe and ExxonMobil have signed an agreement under which Topsoe will deliver its H2 SynCOR technology to ExxonMobil’s planned low-carbon H2 production facility in Baytown, Texas. The technology will enable ExxonMobil to produce H2 at mega scale as well as capture and store more than 98% of its associated CO2 emissions.
